You will expand your knowledge and experience beyond purely recreational level because
you'll learn to look beyond yourself and consider the safety and well being of other
divers. Although this course is serious, it is an enjoyable way to build your confidence.
What do I need to start
PADI open water diver.
Minimum age: 15 years old (12 for PADI junior rescue diver)
Successful completion of a sanctioned CPR program within the past 24 months, i.e. EFR.
To qualify, you complete a number of pool sessions and four open water-
Rescue diver
What will I do
Rescue diver training will prepare you to prevent problems and, if necessary, manage
dive emergencies.
You will read and complete 5 academic modules from your manual
and complete the knowledge reviews. Attend dry class to review modules and take your
exam.
In the pool or confined water you’ll cover:
Tired diver.
Panicked diver.
Response
from shore, boat.
Distressed diver underwater .
Missing diver.
Surface the unresponsive
diver.
Unconscious diver at the surface.
Exiting with a unresponsive diver.
First aid
for pressure related injuries and oxygen administration.
Response from shore/boat
unresponsive diver.
4 open water scenarios.
